The Bismuth Mainnet is Proof-of-Work based. A custom sha-224 algorithm is being utilized and optimized for GPU mining. Block time generation is 1-minute.

The biggest Bismuth mining pools are Eggpool and Coinsaurus. An opensource solo mining software is also available which is called KBKminer.

Hypernodes
The Bismuth Hypernode Side-Chain is Proof-of-Stake based.
Current Hypernodes ROI is 24.4%, up from 21.4% in November. We count 179 active Hypernodes with a total amount of active collateral of 5,180,000 BIS. That’s a decrease of 25 active nodes since the last report.
The plot below shows all Hypernodes, both active and inactive, during the last 60 days. As can be seen from the plot, the number of Hypernodes is currently at 336, number of nodes are unchanged since the last report.
The plot below shows the total Hypernode collateral, both active and inactive, during the last 60 days. As can be seen, the total amount of collateral is 9,370,000 during this period. The total amount of BIS in circulation is 33,68 million. Hence, the amount of active collateral accounts for 15.4 % of the total supply, or 27.8 % if the amount of inactive collateral is included.
