Bismuth Team progress report – November 2020

This report covers October 20, 2020 to November 18, 2020.

Core Node

Behind the scenes work goes on, both on stable and V2 branch.

Going on with tests and core code main repo as well as critical components like the Polysign module.

The current code is impressively stable and there is a lot of ground to cover to ensure the V2 release is at least as stable as the current one.
We thrive to make the upcoming upgrade painless and trouble-free.

Hypernodes

Current Hypernodes ROI is 19.2%, down from 20.3% in October. We count 244 active Hypernodes with a total amount of active collateral of 6,580,000 BIS. That’s a nice increase of 14 active nodes since the last report.

Data from the Hypernodes page.

The plot below shows all Hypernodes, both Active and Inactive, during the last 60 days. As can be seen from the plot, the number of Hypernodes is currently at 302, up 6 nodes since the previous report.

Total number of Hypernodes, both active and inactive.

The plot below shows the total Hypernode collateral, both active and inactive, during the last 60 days. As can be seen, the total amount of collateral has increased to about 7,880,000 during this period. The total amount of BIS in circulation is 26,04 million. Hence, the amount of active collateral accounts for 25.3% of the total supply, or 30.3% if the amount of inactive collateral is included.

Total amount of HN collateral, both active and inactive.

Ecosystem

The Chameleon mobile wallet was supposed to go open source (See previous post) as of today, Chainzilla still did not release the source.
The algorithm they used to generate addresses from seed words is not available either, the tool they propose does not support bismuth and does not give matching results for supported coins either.
we are trying to reach out to Chainzilla on that matter, with no luck so far.

Maccaspacca released a new Bismuth Explorer that is now used at the official place, https://bismuth.online.
From Maccaspacca: “The use of Kafka as a messaging subsystem between the node and explorer was not reliable enough to maintain the explorer information without regular restarts of the application.
This update removes that dependency and makes more use of the built-in api of the node itself. This allows for more simplified and reliable code.
The update is also an opportunity to introduce a basic token explorer which will be further developed later.
Future planned changes include Hypernode and network information as well as continued improvement to the code itself.”

Native Tokens

Since the start of November, Hypernode payouts now come with HYFI Bismuth native tokens in addition to the regular BIS rewards.

Exchanges

Not an exchange per se, but the third party BIS <=> wBIS bridge is up, as well as liquidity pool, and wBIS is now tradeable at Uniswap.
